I Am A Muslim

I turn on the T.V. I see people cursing in front of Mosque’s and I think “What did I ever do to make these people angry?”
I am a Muslim.

I go to Sunday School, I pray, and I believe in 1 god. But really, all Muslims are normal people. I also want the newest iPhone, I like pizza, and I drink water. Like a ton of other people. So really, why do look at the news and see a report on people hating Muslims?

Most people don’t care about religion. If they worship one, they don’t talk about. What’s to know? If you’re Christian, no one cares. If you’re Catholic, no one cares. But when I get up and say I am a Muslim, I get scared looks exchanged between best friends. I get immature boys giggling among themselves whispering that I’m a terrorist.

Cause guess what?

I’m not.

I’m not a terrorist. Those terrorists that bombed NYC, or killed thousands of people were not Muslims. They claim they are. If you read the Quran, you will know, those people aren’t Muslims. Anyone who kills a person and never asks for forgiveness is not a Muslim. And guess what? They killed more than 1. They killed more than 2. In reality, they are non- religious.

What if you switch the positions? What if, let’s say these people were a made-up popular religion called Plorasism? If it doesn’t specifically say in their holy book that killing people doesn’t make them Plora’s, it’s still not right to shun them out. It’s not right to make stereotypes of people when 1/1000 of their people made a mistake. It’s not right.

Each day before my parents became citizens a couple of weeks ago, I worried. At school, I was worried. I was a citizen, but what if they get deported? What if something bad happens to them? But yet, my worry hasn’t gone away. I worry about relatives, my aunt stuck in a separate country, and other families.

Please. Join me in taking a stand. It’s not right to this to us. To anyone. To all those people who protested on the 21st, and all those people who supported from their homes, or work, you are amazing. And the others? Join them. Take a stand. Don’t sit there making stereotypes of people. Don’t say Muslims are terrorists. Don’t say that women should be cooking and cleaning.

I am a Muslim. And I am proud to be one.

I’m So Sorry

Hey guys,

I have had just the worst week ever. I had horrible stomach pains that won’t go away, I have school stress, and money stress since my dad lost his job, and to top it all off, my laptop broke. Probably the worst week since……never. Anyways, lets not do that anymore, I just wanted to say I am super sorry I won’t be able to post often. I still have to figure out this computer situation, I may get a new one, I’m not sure. I seriously wanted to start off this new year on the right foot, and blog a ton for you guys, but hey, my path isn’t straight, it’s just got a curve and I’ve got to see what lies behind it. I may post 1 a week, hopefully. I just wanted to let you know, and that I am super sorry.

Parent’s Be Like ….. | NYCelebration Day 7

Hey Guys! Sad, today is our last day of our NYCelebration 😦 But, let’s make this last one a memorable one.

Now, everyday, when I walk into my house, my parents and I have this type of conversation.

Mom: ||Pours Tea||

Shania:|| Eats Cereal|

Dad: || Comes downstairs scratching his butt ||

Mom: “Hey Shania, did you know that Drake is now a singer or something? I thought he was going to stick to acting!!”

Shania: || rolls eyes|| “Mom, Drake stopped acting in 2007!!!”

Mom: “Well you don’t have to be rude! Also, you know T. Swift stopped dating Joe Jonas!!??”

Shania: “Mom, that happened in 2008!!”

Dad: “You know, there’s been a World War III?!”

Shania & Mom:  Wait, WHAT?!!

Anyways, that was me trying to be funny. I swear, it hurts. Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed this post, see you soon! Bye!

Describing My Perfect Day | NYCelebration Day 6

Hey Guys! Welcome to another NYCelebration day! So have you ever wanted the perfect day? No drama or anything? Well, sometimes it’s OK to have that type of day. Take a break and forget about your other responsibilities. Today, I decided to describe my perfect day. My daycation. Let’s get started!

First, I would wake up at around 9(that’s late for me), and order a caramel latte and make some pancakes. Then, I would get dressed, and put on some make-up. Make-up relaxes me and lifts up my self-confidence.Then, I would probably get a cab and ride on over to the mall. Shopping is another thing that relaxes me. Next, I would probably grab a hot soup or sandwich from Panera Bread. Then, I would ride home, and cozy up with another latte or hot chocolate and watch Netflix. After, I would order Chinese take-out, and then write a blog post. Then, I would finish up a movie and read a book. After, I would fall asleep really early.

I really hope you guys enjoyed my perfect day! Comment what your perfect day is like!

She has been a tremendous part of Life As Shania’s growth, and she comments and likes the most on this blog. So seriously Mahriya. Thank You so much!

What I Think About Trump Coming nto the Office | NYCelebration 4

Hey guys!! It’s Shania here! So until now, I have steered clear from any election talk. There are many disagreements about the election, plus people do think that it is rigged and have different opinions. But as Donald Trump’s inauguration day comes closer, I really wanted to say my opinion of what I think about him coming into the office. DISCLAIMER: All opinions are strictly mine, this does not mean that you have to agree with them, I just wanted to share them. I encourage you to write your opinions in the comments down below, but please no hate.

When the election first came around and the topic of it, I always knew I was going to be with Hillary. I mean, she was running to be the first woman president!! That’s pretty big. Also, the other candidate was thinking about kicking people out of the country and such. But, as the election went on, I was confused. I mean, Hillary over Trump was an obvious choice for me, but as I heard about the emails and such, I didn’t know that if I supported Hillary or not. But, as I weighed in the pro’s and con’s of both candidates, I knew that I supported Hillary. I probably wouldn’t pick her over Obama, but I still supported her over Trump. So, long story short, I picked her because she wasn’t Trump. I mean, I still liked her, but I wouldn’t have picked her if me getting kicked out of the country was on the line, since I am a Muslim.

All in all, I personally don’t think Trump is fit for office. This is all, of course, my opinion. I encourage you all to state your opinion down below. Now, if you don’t even live in the U.S, well, tell me which candidate you would pick. I hope you guys enjoyed this post!Bye!

Profusion FACE Palette Review | NYCelebration Day 3

Hey guys! Welcome to another day of our NYCelebration! So, this Christmas I received the Profusion FACE Palette from my uncle! I was super excited, because I really needed a travel-sized make-up kit, and this was perfect! Let’s get started w/ the review!!

I really liked the packaging. I thought it was really nice and functional. It was very slim, so perfect for traveling and flat. Super convenient, except I wish there was a clasp in the front so that it wouldn’t open accidently.

I actually really liked the quality of the make-up inside. It came with many eyeshadow colors, and lot’s of brown, which is a color I use a lot. The blushes were great and so were the bronzers. I loved the brow pencils and wax, and the lip glosses. The blush brush was a little cheap, but other than that, the make-up was great!

Final Words:

I personally rate this 5 stars. I really liked it, the packaging was great, and so was the actual make-up. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, so go and check it out! Hope you guys enjoyed this post!! Bye!

P.S: I took all of the pictures! Did you like them??!!

Hey guys! Welcome to Day 2 of my NYCelebration! So today(Or really a week ago when you are reading this) I went to San Francisco. It’s really not that far from Pleasanton, about 1 1/2 hours away. My mom and I decided to have a Girls Day-cation, and we shopped and ate at San Francisco.(Comment Below If You Guys Want To See A Tour Post) As we toured the place, we went to Fairmont Hotel, which has this insanely awesome gingerbread house, and we needed to get there from the BART Powell station(BART is like an above-ground subway) and my mom suggested we take a Uber. At first, I was kinda freaked out about, but if you keep on reading, you’ll find out!

Reviewing UberX:

What is Uber?

In case you don’t know what Uber is, it is basically this transport system where you download the app, and you pick a destination, and a driver comes and picks you up and drops you off. The great thing is, is that you can track your driver as you wait for him, and he can track you down too, so in case you move over a block, the driver can just pick you up there. Also, they have different options like UberPool, which means you have 2 different people in the car, which are going near the same place, and the driver drops off 1, and then the other. This is generally the cheapest. Then, there is UberX. This is a little more expensive, but it’s like a taxi. With those both options, you usually ride in a Sedan. Then there is Select and Black, which both are fancy cars and cost more. After, there is UberXL and SUV. Those 2 are the most expensive. There are also options for handicapped people. Most people go with UberX because it is the cheapest and faster than UberPool.

My Review:

Rating: ***** 5 stars!

First, I was pretty worried about Uber, because I thought the drivers would be untrustworthy, but the app is easy to handle, and the drivers are amazing! The app tells you how long the driver is away, and also shows other nearby drivers. The drivers were very respectful and polite and picked you up right where you are, not across the street or anything. The app also said the model and license plate of the car, so it was easy to spot. The app lets you review your driver after. You can also split the fair if you are riding with other people and has an option where you can stop and go. I personally really like Uber!

I really hoped you guys enjoyed the post!! Bye!
